Lynn Stonehouse

Colour and rhythm are guiding themes for Cornish artist Lynn Stonehouse, whose current work uses the landscape and water, reflections and weather to give momentum and lead her on to new ideas. All are the product of a childhood spent experimenting freely with ideas, colours and processes – from building toy boats to painting her own bedroom walls.

This was followed by a degree in environmental marine biology and an early career that encompassed everything from building museum exhibits to sailing instruction.

However, she always felt drawn back to art and completed a foundation course in art and design in 2000 before having a young family and immersing herself in work once more, adding 3D pieces and textiles to her repertoire.
